Signature in Blog Posts

Do you include a signature in all of your blog posts?

If not..you should. Especially if your content is being grabbed by RSS feed! Notice our signature on all of our blog posts.

Make sure that you include links back to your site. The beauty of a blog is that many people may end up reading your blog without even going to your blog.

There are ways of automating this process so your signature is adding automatically!

If you do not already have it setup this way then you probably need us to take a look at your blog and see what else is wrong!

One of the first things we look at when we are analyzing a website is the fundamentals. Fundamentals of what?

The fundamentals we look at are:

Page Title Meta Tags (What is displayed at the top of the browser)
Page Names (What shows up in the navigation bar — starts with http://…)
Meta Tags

Why are these important as they relate to SEO?
Because the more specific that your pages are and the more relevant all of this information is as it relates to the content of your web pages .. the better your pages will perform with search engines!

A simple way to see if your website is optimized is to navigate around on your site and every page that you look at note two things. 1. The title that is displayed at the top of the browser. 2. The url that is displayed.

The titles should be unique for every page and the urls should contain the most important keywords related to the topic of your page.

This is just an exercise for you to see some of the fundamentals related to your website. What we actually look at is more complex than just this. Most websites will fail this test. Even websites that have been supposedly “optimized” by web designs.

Quality of Leads from SEO

I just wanted to post some information about the quality of leads that one receives from organic search results vs. paid (pay-per-click) advertising.
We have reviewed one of our clients Google Analytics and the results are in!! The quality of leads coming as a result of organic search engine rankings is much higher than that of paid links.

We all know that the search engines take many things into consideration when calculating where your website should appear in their list of results. One of the first things that they look at is your domain name and your url’s.

That is why it is important to start out with the best domain possible. If you are optimizing your main, core website, you may have no choice of changing your domain, however if you are considering starting a blog or want to create another website to target very specific people doing very specific searches then it is importnat to start out with the best domain name that would assist in targeting those consumers.

When we are researching domains for a client we base our search on actual searches that are being done by consumers. We can even see the volume of these searches. This is very effective.

When creating a blog, for example there are bascially 3 different ways to do this.

Create your blog on a free service site like blogspot. You get a url like this.. http://yoursubject.blogspot.com
Create your blog in a sub domain on your main website. You get a url like this.. http://yourdomain.com/ourblog
Create your blog on a separate very specific domain. You get a url like this.. http://yoursubject.com

Websites and blogs perform better with search engines when they are very specific. Specificity and relevance are the two areas to keep in mind when creating a web page, website or blog.
